The Borobudur Temple
Located in Muntilan, Magelang this Buddhist sanctuary is more than 1000 years old… so don’t break the shit. This beautiful place stands as one of the greatest Buddhist works of art known to man. This place is a true wonder of the world and should be seen by everyone before they die.
This is the largest volcanic lake in the world. It’s located in northern Sumatra, the largest of Indonesian’s islands. Which there are many many islands that make up Indonesia as you would imagine. The lake is perfect for swimming with how clean and warm it is. Do you want to do some exploring in the area? Rent a motorbike there and have a blast. Unlike Thailand and India, the roads here are fine for the less advanced as they are pretty clear with very minimal traffic. This lake is a four hour car ride (bus ride) south from Medan, but you’ll soon understand that it’s worth it.
Take a wild guess what animal this island is famous for. Located between Sumbawa and Flores Islands it’s one of the smaller islands but still gives you plenty of play room coming in at 108 square miles (280 square km). The island is host to pure white sands and crystal clear water surrounding it that makes you wish you had a speedboat. If you plan on staying here get comfy in a guesthouse of a local fishing village. You can also dive or snorkel here for some of the best coral reefs you will ever see in your life. Note though, most things in life worth it don’t come easy… this island is only accessible by water as you will need to take a 3-4 hour boat ride from Labuan Bajo but friend… it is so worth it to visit this beautiful haven like no other.
