Sun-drenched Tenerife is a well-known destination for all inclusive hotel package holidays but a little luxury isn’t hard to find on this island. The largest of the Canary Islands holds some amazing private accommodation from which to explore all that this diverse island has to offer.
Tenerife holidays are synonymous with year-round sunshine, an abundance of beaches and a spectacular interior volcanic landscape. As a vacation destination it’s also associated with family-friendly beach resorts but there are plenty of luxury private villas complete with swimming pools, roof terraces, beautiful gardens and outdoor Jacuzzis. Whether you pick your villa next to the picturesque coast, town or within the magnificent interior scenery, it easy to enjoy a more luxurious holiday here.
Tenerife’s volcanic north coast
Northern Tenerife is home to Santa Cruz, the island’s bustling capital city. Renting a villa on the rocky northern coast means you will have access to the capital as well as easy access to the stunning Teide National Park. This park is the place to witness the amazing ‘Martian-like’ volcanic landscape either on a jeep tour or from the back of camel. Tenerife’s northern beaches are expansive and not as packed as the south coast beaches; the best golden sands can be found at beaches such as Playa Teresitas, located just outside of the capital city.
The sun-drenched south coast
Tenerife’s south coast is without doubt the busiest part of the island thanks to an abundance of golden beaches, vibrant nightlife and fun themed water parks such as Siam Park and Aqualand. Self-catering apartments are also in abundance here but there are plenty of excellent private villas for rent. You can easily find a villa in locations such as Costa Adeje complete with a swimming pool for around $800 to $1000 per week. The price will fluctuate with the season in which you visit and discounted prices can be found during the still-sunny spring, autumn and winter months.
What to expect for the price
Most villas will come with a swimming pool, bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, sun terraces, state of the art kitchens, lush private gardens and security entrances. Some villas owners will also include a car as part of the rental deal and this is worth inquiring about if you plan on touring the island. It’s also worth researching the activities with regards to where your villa is located: a villa in Fanabe will give you access to the nearby golden sand beaches and three championship golf courses. As a whole, Tenerife is fairly inexpensive and you can find some great deals on private villas by using online travel comparison websites or by contacting the villa owners directly.
