Enjoy Fun Rides With Your Family

October 23, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

For those of us who were fortunate enough to experience cycling a bike when we were young or taking rides on a bicycle with your dad or parents around your residential area or the countryside, do you miss those days? Do you still remember the fun and the quality times spent with your dad or even your childhood friends? I am sure you do and some of you would love to relive those days if you could.

Now, most of you would have a nice car to ride around, to do your errands, buy groceries or to send your kids for their recreational activities. Using your car to get around or to get things done is definitely faster and safer. The car will shelter you from the hot sun and also from the rain. For your kids, the only rides they enjoyed were on their kid’s tricycle around the compound of your house. And you have been thinking that your kids are missing the fun and freedom that you have enjoyed during your young days.

If that is so, then you shouldn’t just be thinking about it. It is time to get into action. Time is not going to wait for you because before you know it, your kids will be leaving home for college very soon. Don’t let go of the opportunity to bond with your kids while they still enjoy your company. Take your family along with you one weekend to look at the bicycles on sale at the shops or if you want to surprise your kids, you can look up the bicycles online. Check out the type of bicycles you want to buy, depending on whether you are looking for a light weight bicycle or a beach cruiser. If you are staying near to a beach, then it would be a good idea to start your search at Sixthreezero.com for the best beach cruiser. Just imagine the fun rides you and your kids will get to enjoy during the weekends and holidays. Plus, packing a basket of picnic lunch will be wonderful for a family outing at the beach. If you have decided on a beach cruiser, then it is natural that you will be looking for one for you wife from the many models of beach cruiser bikes for women.

For those who are staying away from the beach, you still can enjoy fun rides in your residential area around your area or in the recreational park near your home. You can choose from the many types of bicycles available, such as Hybrid, Cruiser, Comfort and Commuter.

Travelling and Fitness – Can they really co-exist?

April 18, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

No matter what your definition of fitness is, it’s not something that you achieve in a day. And, once you have reached that summit or benchmark you have set for your fitness, keeping yourself there is easier said than done, especially, if you’re a big fan of travelling and eating. We recently came across someone who battles that dilemma every day – how do you maintain your current level of fitness if you are out travelling?

They said:

Travelling is a way of life, but then, so is fitness. Both of them are a choice, and the brutal truth for most people is – when you choose one of them, the other one goes for a toss. No matter how much of an amazing workout you pull across at the gym or the supplements you use – be it Creatine, Whey, or steroids from trusted players like Steroidsfax, your diet trumps everything. And, travelling primarily involves eating what you find – especially in remote places and regions far from home. So, do you shy away from the mouth-watering Thukpa when in Tibet or do you give in?

It’s a tough question, but the answers aren’t rocket science. Let’s take the important bits one at a time.

Eating: No, you shouldn’t be consuming all the junk you come across. But then, you shouldn’t be doing yourself or the place injustice by saying ‘no’ to all the local specialities; eat, but in a healthy and pragmatic way.

  • Portions matter – If you have regular access to food along the way, then you can have smaller portions of all the dishes that are on your wish list and spread your meals across your day, so that there are more of them, but in smaller quantities.
If you don’t, ask the localsor your host nicely about places where you can find food on the way. Trust us – everyone’s out to help.
  • Asketh, and you shall receiveth – One of the most saddening facts in the culinary industry is that people don’t ask. Seriously folks, you are allowed to request your chefs to make things in the way that you prefer. When you know that the Biryani is supposed to be a bit more toward the oilier side, ask your chef if he/she can strike a balance between the oil and the taste. People are more than happy to accommodate your requests, but you have got to ask them first.

Now, the Workout part:

Okay, we all know that carrying your dumbbells around doesn’t make sense, so here’s the advice of the day – something is better than nothing.

  • If you’ve been relying on chest presses all along to give your chest that killer workout, how about going with pushups when you’re out travelling? It works! Keep the reps high and a good posture and you’ll be good to go.
  • Are your legs missing the gym too much? Go for free-weight squats and lunges. You might look a bit weird doing that in the courtyard of your backpacking hostel, but remember – it’s your body, and you’re incharge of keeping it in shape. Plus, it further adds to your reputation for discipline and makes you a rockstar amongst your co-travellers.
  • Rely on non-gym exercises: Yoga is an excellent way to keep your fitness incheck; furthermore, it adds to your body’s capabilities. Download an app and a couple of YouTube videos or get professional advice on doing the Asanas.

At the end, it’s shouldn’t really be that hard of a choice to make – it’s about keeping the balance of enjoying the experience of visiting different places while keeping your investment in the form of effort and time saved. And, like everything in life – it takes discipline and it takes persistence, so do your research well in advance and plan accordingly. Lastly, don’t forget – it’s the small efforts that take us the long way ahead. Aim to be 1% better every day with these small efforts and have a great time.

How to Survive Long Airport Layovers

I recently took a trip from the UK and as it was around the holiday season the prices for flights had gone sky high. Like many others who look to keep the cost of their flights down, I opted for some connections with different airlines rather than go direct. I was happy with the price that I got but it did result in some rather long connections in both Gatwick and McCarran airport, 5 and 7 hours respectively. I planned pretty well for my time in the airports and I wanted to talk today about the things that you can do in order to pass your time on a long airport layover.

Playing Games

One of my favorite ways to pass the time is playing games on my mobile or tablet, there are few times where you can steal the opportunity to play games for a few hours without anything else more important to do. Almost all major airports these days have plenty of places where you can charge up your devices as well as wifi which means that you can play online pokies games and lots of other online games where you can win prizes, trophies or even a bit of cash whilst you are waiting.

Can You Reach the City?

A great option you should look at if you have lots of time to kill in the airport is whether you can reach the nearest town or city. During my time in Vegas I managed to get 3 hours on the strip, it was nice to experience it and I was back in the airport with plenty of time in hand for my upcoming flight. Vancouver was another place where I had a layover last year and they have a fast skytrain which goes directly in to the city in 15 minutes. You won’t always be able to reach the nearest town or city and you’ll have to bear in mind travel time and time to get through security etc. If you’re able to do it though you’ll get a chance to see a bit of a different city and kill some time in the process.

Movie Time

If you make sure that you plan ahead then you can download some movies to watch during your layover. If you have a lot of time to pass then you could look at downloading a long movie to pass the time. Alternatively you could download a TV box set to watch in the airport, many of the video viewing platforms online like Netflix will give you the chance to download films and TV shows to view offline. I would definitely recommend that you download something as even though airports do have wifi which is strong enough to play games, they are most certainly not strong enough to stream TV or movies. So remember, plan ahead with your downloads then simply find yourself a comfy chair to sit back and relax in the airport with a movie.
