The super rich elite of this world have unlimited spending power while the rest of us are tightening our ever shorter purse strings! We thought we’d indulge a curiosity and take a look at where the super rich are getting hitched. From the swankiest hotels to the most beautiful chateaux, brides and grooms with money to spare are living out their wedding fantasies in opulent style. Have you ever wondered what the most expensive wedding venues in the world are, and what you get for your money? Let’s take a look inside the most luxurious wedding venues that money can buy.
Cipriani, New York City
This storied Italian Renaissance style venue is a decades old party institution. If you want to marry in the most opulent and cinematic surroundings that Manhattan has to offer, put down some cash on a wedding reception at Cipriani on 42nd Street (the original, and best venue). A reception here will cost you a minimum of $300 per head, and lighting hire to make the most of their gorgeous setting will cost about $10,000. The average wedding in Manhattan now runs at a cost of $76,000–and believe us, there’s nothing average about Cipriani.
The Dorchester Hotel, London
Coming in at about £1,000 for room hire, the Dorchester Hotel is the most upmarket place to marry in England’s capital. By night the Dorchester is a regular celebrity haunt, so you can expect to see the likes of Kate Moss sashaying in and out. The grand dining room has to be seen to be believed, and our favourite room is the art deco themed Crystal Suite.
Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Mumbai
This is where India’s billionaires come to get married. This incredible venue can host about 6,000 guests and its caterers can provide lavish buffets that span every type of world cuisine you can imagine. Mere mortals can also marry here and hold a dream wedding in their open air and balmy weather. There are three bookable lawns that also cater for smaller weddings. If the idea of getting married at a racecourse appeals to you, then check out Kempton wedding packages.
Vaux le Vicomte, near Paris
A French chateaux set in rolling countryside, you can not find a more fairytale venue than this historic home 35 miles from the centre of Paris. You will need to have $64,000 ready to lay down in order to secure this sublimely beautiful wedding venue. The ceremonial room itself is named the Salon de Muses and was decorated by famed painter Charles le Brun.
Taj Arabia, Dubai
Leave it to the city planners of Dubai to create perhaps the most super lavish, extra extravagant, and painfully pricy wedding venue on earth. No doubt the 1 billion dollar replica of India’s most famous tourist landmark the Taj Mahal will pull in interest from the mind bogglingly wealthy elite Dubai. Anyone of its 300 rooms will be decked out in the most popular fashion and there will be retail, restaurants and other entertainment on site. Who even needs to go to India to see the real thing when you can buy your Gucci at the Taj Arabia?
